Hello, I am Amelia
Project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Greenwich, United Kingdom.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Relocating to United Kingdom wasn't part of the grand plan. Like many expatriate moves, it started as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The first months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tangled than they ought to.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Relocate & Thrive
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Represents (And What It Is Not)
This site stands for:
- Hands-on experience from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever there is a meaningful change
This site isn't:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review site
- Just a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in United Kingdom continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Greenwich or anywhere in United Kingdom, please get in touch.
Best regards,
Amelia
